Why do Christians suffer?

This question is not difficult when we understand that we are in a fallen world.  God has not promised that we would be removed from trouble, in fact, because we love Jesus and seek to live for Him, we will suffer because the world hates Him and anyone who loves Him; (John 15:18-23; 16:33)(Philippians 1:29)(I Peter 4:12-19).

Unfortunately, many false teachers in America today are saying that believers should not suffer and that the only reason they will is because of persecution.  But Job is an example of a righteous man to whom the Lord allowed suffering to enter His life so that He might be glorified and that Job might draw ever closer to the Lord.  All things work together for the good of those (the saved) who love God (Romans 8:29).
