We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (Isa. 40:8; II Tim. 3:16, 17; John 10:35; II Peter 1:19-21). THE TRUE GODWe believe in one God, eternal, immutable, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, manifesting Himself in Three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - one in nature, name, attributes, power and glory. (Gen. 1:1; Prov. 30:4, Mt. 28:19; Mk. 12:29; II Cor. 13:14; John 1:1-4, 18; Acts 5:3, 4) THE SON OF GOD
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man. (Mt.
1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; Phil. 2:6-11) THE CREATION AND FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created in the
image of God; That he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical
death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and
that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of
those who reach responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and
deed. (Gen. 1:26, 27; 2:7-9, 16-17; 3:1-19; Ps. 51:5; 58:3; Rom. 5:12;
Eph. 2:1-3) THE ATONEMENT
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures as a propitiatory and substitution
sacrifice, and rose again for our justification; and that all who
believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood and are
saved by grace through faith wholly apart from merit and works. (Acts
13:38, 39; 16:31; Rom. 3:21-28; Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:3-8) FAITH AND SALVATION
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord
Jesus are born again by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God and
thereby become the children of God, possessing eternal, divine life.
(John 3:3-16; 1:12, 13; 5:24; 10:28, 29; I Peter. 1:23; II Pet. 1:4-11) SECURITY OF THE SAINTS
We believe that all who are truly “born again”
are eternally kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. (Phil. 1:6; John
10:28, 29; Rom. 8:35-39; I John 5:11-13 THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person -
the Administrator of the Godhead - convincing of sin, revealing Christ,
teaching truth, restraining evil, energizing believers in prayer,
worship and service, and is ever present in the believer as Comforter
and Helper. (Ps. 139:7-12; John 14:16, 17; 15:26; 16:13, 14; Rom. 8:9;
I Cor. 6:19; II Thes. 2:7) We believe further that the baptism in the
Spirit occurs at the moment of Salvation and unites the believer to the
Body of Christ (I Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13, 14), and that the sign gifts
of the Holy Spirit were for the apostolic age and are not be sought
after today (Heb. 2:3, 4 and I Cor. 13:8-10; 14:21, 22) |
